Kubas Gets Married.

I have a good friend.  His name is Ben Kubas.  He is one of those friends that is more known just by his last name.  So it's a mid summer day - hot, dry and dusty - and Kubas and I are driving to the peak of Killington with a car full of camera gear.  We're on a shoot for Killington Resort capturing downhill mountain bike shots.  Kubas is biking and I'm shooting.  We get to the part of the drive that is quite steep and rocky.  I kick in my 4 wheel drive.  Kubas says he's getting married.

huh?  "Yep, getting married." Kubas says.  "Married" I say. (in my best 16 candles impression) "yes, married" Kubas replies.

Very cool.

Here are some of my favorites for their wedding.

 Pre-wedding swim.

Kubas in his boxers running behind - no way - running behind?  I don't believe it.

Apparently this bottle of fine whisky has been to a bunch of weddings.

 Girls getting ready.

 Shannon getting Dad ready.

 Looking on.

The Kiss.

Happy family.

The Bike.  One of my all time favorite wedding portraits.
Father - Daughter dancin'.
The Barn.

The bike makes a late night appearance.

Last dance.
Backcountry skiing buddies - that's me in the middle after a long fun night.

Tuesday

Ashley and Justin.

"Down the road a bit you take a right, go a few more miles and take another right by the country store, go up the hill a ways, bare right at the fork and start looking on your left, you'll see the house, it's stone."  Here in Vermont that is how directions are given most of the time.  Summer was in full swing when Garren and I headed to the Brides family farm.  Large fields, old trees and ponds peppered the landscape of the property and the sun was burning bright and strong just like it should in the middle of summer.  The wedding of Ashley and Justin was right smack dab in the middle of it all.

Blue shoes were very cool.

It was a steamy July afternoon and I seriously thought about a dip.

Love the reflection.

Ashley was all for having fun while shooting.

Very serious.

Not so serious.

Timeless.

Great details like this all over the property.

One of many great portraits Garren and I produced.

Awesome field.

Same awesome field.

Yet again, awesome field.

We finished off the night with a ring light session.

Sunset.

Monday

Lakes and Boats

Next stop for Kaht and I was upstate New York.  As per request of the couple most of the details will be left out but I thought I would share a few of my favorites from the day.

 Waiting for the "first look".

Friday

Mountain Top Inn Wedding....part two for this season.

It was back up to the Mountain Top Inn for Kaht and I next.  Amy and Dave were getting married.  Super fun couple with great energy and a perfect afternoon.  Although a last minute decision was made to hold the ceremony under the tent the rains never came and we got to shoot a few images up on the hill where the ceremony was to be held.

Enjoy the pic's.
