Friday

To the Coast for Old Friends.

It's always good when you hear from old friends, even better when they have good news.  Tara G. a long time friend of 10 years, called last fall with the news of her engagement.  Very exciting news indeed!  What was really flattering was she wanted me to shoot her wedding.  "Of course, it would be my pleasure".  So this past June, myself and my assistant Kori, headed East to Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME.  We arrived mid-day on Friday and checked into our hotel.  A very big and extra thank you goes out to the bride and groom for putting Kori and I up in such a nice hotel with a great location. (downtown Portsmouth)  No time was wasted though, Kori and I were back in the car and headed to the rehearsal at Rob's (groom) family property.  After a quick walk through of the next days ceremony we were on the move again, this time to a marina where boats awaited.  "Huh? Wait a second - boats?  What are we doing?  Where are we going?"  Turns out the rehearsal dinner was planned at a lobster shack (being the coast of Maine and all) which we will be traveling to by boat.  This was very cool, 4 boats full of family and friends all heading up the Pisquataqua River with a lobster bake waiting.

The next morning I was on the road again to Tara's families home where she was getting ready for the big day.  The house was a buzz with excitement and anticipation.  The flowers were delivered, the champagne toasts shared and the dress was perfect.  Now it was off to the ceremony.  Turns out the limo couldn't negotiate the fickle Kittery traffic and we were forced to drive ourselves, not a big deal and even gave us the opportunity to get this shot, one of my favorites from the day.

Rob's family property was the location for the ceremony and reception.  It was amazing in every detail, just perfect.  The ceremony was great, the cocktails tasty, the speeches both funny and heart warming and the dancing groovy.  Below are some of my favorite shots from night.  You can also see more images from Tara & Rob's wedding in the "featured weddings" section of my website HERE.  Enjoy and thanks again to Tara & Rob for a great weekend.
