Wednesday

Sarah & Ed, Barnard, Vermont.

So after a couple of weekends off my assistant Kathleen and I were refreshed and excited about the wedding of Sarah and Ed.  The location was an old parcel of family land way up on a hillside in Barnard, VT.  The land, located about a mile up a class 4 road, had been worked on and graded to be a perfect spot for a tent and the views were amazing.  The bride, Sarah, was getting ready at the Woodstock Inn, just down the road from the wedding site.  When Kaht and I arrived the skies were threating and to be honest, it didn't look good.  Soon after our arrival it started to rain and the thunder was booming, shaking the windows of the Inn.  As Sarah and friends put the finishing touches on the dress the time to head to wedding site was upon us.  I had reports being phoned in from my office on what the radar looked like and where the rain was heading...it was looking better and better every moment.  We loaded up the cars and vans and made our way to the site.  With every passing minute and mile, the skies were lightening and even a few rays of sun started to poke through.

The ceremony started with just a little rain still falling, but then, just like that, a little nod from the weather gods and the ceremony finished under bright sunny skies, just amazing.

The night became clear, the air dried out and Sarah, Ed and I took time to shoot a bunch of fun quick portraits as the sun set.

The night continued with dancing and fun.  The couple even had warm chocolate chip cookies and milk for the guests as they left. (Kaht and I grabbed a few as well and they were amazing)  A perfect ending to a very nice day.
